If you somehow haven’t already pressed play on the first episode linked above, you’ll be happy to know that the series stars Kandoro as the titular Mukoma Bruce, a more…Zimbabwean interpretation of the titular DC hero but from Mufakose of all places. Add in a Bamunini Alfred, Sgt Goddy and Sekai instead of Catwoman and you have a parody piece that’s literally set to make you keep laughing. Kandoro did his research and clearly shows how much of a fan he is, but more importantly takes the mostly unrelatable story of Batman for the average Zimbo and just riffs on the oddest elements of it, along with adding some of his own(just imagine Batman needing to call Alfred because his car has no fuel). It’s all a perfect parody of the source material, but it’s still funny even if you’re not a Batman fan because, well, it trns into a homage of classic Zimbabwean shows like Studio 263 halfway through the first episode. And that’s not just because of “Dread Welly WemaPlan”. And this somehow actually works. Kandoro is clearly showing his love for growing up with such shows and is referencing some of their more comedic character dynamics and It honestly does make you wonder what is actually going on while also just chuckling about all of it.

And that’s what this project is supposed to be most of all. An excuse to laugh at a Zimbo riff about Batman while wondering how in the world this idea came to be(I mean this batman actually slaps people like the meme). I don’t know how the rest of the show Will develop, but if it’s anything like this then I’ll be in for a ride. Hopefully the rest of you strap in for that too.
