No matter what happens today, we should remember that the most important thing in Zimbabwe….is the actual Zimbabweans.

So we all know the situation today. In fact, writing this here at TZP, we realized not a certain amount of tension is building even with hoaxes of internet providers claiming their services will be “down for maintenance”. But even with today’s events we felt we had to post a simple reminder that if the day is as eventful as some expect, or if it’s not at all, let’s remember that the value of fellow Zimbabwean lives is something we should all adhere to today.
To be clear, this isn’t a post to suggest lives will be threatened today, neither is it taking sides in whatever may take place. But considering what happened in January of this year, the people attacked, lives lost, and trauma that remained in this country, it can’t be understated how much every Zimbabwean needs to be reminded that we don’t need to go there again. Our country is in dire circumstances, we’re all well aware, measures must be taken to fix that. Today perhaps some people in this country may choose to attempt that. That should not lead to their harm. In the same way their stand should not lead to the physical harm of others either. When brother strikes brother, no good can come from it, and Zimbabwe has suffered enough already for us to keep causing it more pain by directly harming each other as well. Hopefully it doesn’t have to come to that, and hopefully a lack of anyone can be a first step to actually living in a better, safer Zimbabwe.
