With today’s events already having everyone on edge before they’ve even started (us included) , a lot of social media buzz has been generated on mobile network operators shutting down their services (or being forced to do so) because of today’s events. It turns out an official looking screenshot that seemed to be taken from Econet’s website about the company shutting down services for “maintenance purposes” has a hoax, and customers can expect to keep using Econet services with no problem(unless other elements intervene of course).

Whatever happens today of course may not be completely in Econet’s control, and we would advise you look up some of our how-to guides for some help on utilities to have today if things go south.
