The CHEAPEST way to get Starlink In Zimbabwe
Let’s get you a good deal, shall we?

Last week, the return of local Starlink plans made a huge part of the Zimbabwean internet rejoice. After all, for 15 months, people needed local capacity, and now it’s finally here. But with the capacity being for priority plans that cost $101-$200, it’s only natural that the enthusiasm die down and more confusion and disappointment replace it. But thankfully, there still are cheaper ways to get Starlink in Zim, and we’ve honed in on an approach that saves you not just on getting the kit, but the subscription and installation as well! So without wasting more time, let’s jump into the cheapest way to get Starlink in Zimbabwe.
@perspectivezim Starlink is back! With the new Priority Data Business plans u can now get Starlink easily in Harare and Bulawayo. However considering the high price of the new plans, is it worth it? Now before we get into the step-by-step process , we need to acknowledge that to get the absolute cheapest subscription, you’ll have to embrace roaming packages. That may be a bummer for some, but especially if you are a residential or small office user (i.e. 30 connected devices or less), a roaming plan is probably still going to be enough for you. Those tend to require third parties to set up (some which we will link below), but once its set up managing it is no difference from a local plan. The biggest flaw of Roaming however is having to shut down your kit for 48 hours every 2 months or so, which I genuinely understand is an inconvenience for people, but for context, considering whole businesses like car fleet management companies rely on roaming plans, it does have its own advantages. Speed wise roaming plans are slower than local plans as well, but still far faster and more reliable than anything in their price range . For context, we use one, and one of us runs a whole gaming downloads business!
So with that stated, lets get into how best you can get your cheaper set up in three easy steps:
1. Buy a Starlink Mini kit from a local reseller
2. Get a roaming plan for a price range of $50-$60 per month
3. Get your kit installed and mounted for cheap
Step 1 : Buying a Mini kit

Now again, on paper the larger standard kit is faster and if you want to run a big office with tons of devices it may not be for you, but if not, then a mini kit will be more than enough for what you need. As for buying one, while going online is an option, just getting one locally is both cheaper and faster now, considering local taxes and Starlink themselves pushing people to try and buy business kits instead. As such, local retailers like Shona Prince Technologies or Frampol are great options for brand new mini kits, with Shona Prince selling theirs for $250 while Frampol has them for $275. Just approach them saying you only want to buy the kit (state you already have an account, and if you don’t , just make one), and that the kit is all you need. Each provider may try to upsell you on certain things, but remember, we’re trying to keep things cheap here so don’t take any extra expenses you don’t need unless you have genuinely been offered a cheaper deal as some users are getting.

Going on the informal market is also an option, but a much riskier one. You may find a kit on Facebook Marketplace for example but please make sure it is completely functional and has had the user ownership removed or transferred to the seller so they transfer it to you, otherwise the kit won’t work, and basically think it’s been stolen.
Step 2 : Getting a roaming plan

Now since most people have issues setting up a roaming plan, a third party provider or “dealer” is a must but we can link to a few that we’ve found reliable. Contacting the number below will link you to an independent dealer who can help set up a $60 per month subscription , linked to your account and in your control.
- Number: +263 77 885 1947
- Whatsapp Link
Note they will also required a $20 one time service fee so please do be aware.
If you want another option you can also search for Mr Starlink on Facebook who offers similar terms. Once either one of these dealers sets you up, you can literally turn on and activate your kit and start browsing.
Step 3 : Installing and getting your kit mounted for cheap.

Now let’s get one thing clear here: activating your Starlink kit is an EASY process that you genuinely shouldn’t have to pay someone to do for you. All you need is the app, to sign in to your account and to follow the steps usually written on the box. If that’s confusing however, we also linked a video below that shows you how to activate a mini kit.
Then there’s mounting the thing, which honestly depending on if you have a drill and some screws at home, you could probably do yourself. But if not, you should definitely call a satellite dish installer to do for you. Yes, the one that mounts Wiztec and DSTV dishes, that one! This is because these won’t charge you anything more than $15 unless you need to buy a specially mounting arm , which usually isn’t necessary unless the roofing is fragile (e.g. thatched) or you want to clear some trees. As such get them to drill the kit in, make sure it’s secure and that’s it.
And all of this if done right should cost you around $345 , give or take $50 considering which reseller you used or if you opted for using an informal market kit. It may not be the cheapest in the world but considering it means quality internet for years to come it is likely worth it for a lot of you. And just for comparison, we’ve put up comparisons for getting the same setup from Starlink directly or for using a local reseller’s full suite including their required services and installation fees. You guys can be the judge. We will also note that local resellers can be more flexible about installation price based on the home setup so we tried our best to guess with their lowest figures.
| Our Approach | Starlink.com | Shona Prince | Frampol |
Kit price(Mini) | $250 (via Shona) | $389 (Standard) | $250 | $275 (Mini) |
Subscription | $60 (Roam) | $101 | $101 ( Business) | $150(Business) |
Installation | $15 | $15(up 2 you) | $100 | $250 (negotiable) |
Total | $345 | $505 | $451 | $675 |
And there you have it. Again, a lot can be changed here considering other local sellers have special offers for schools or other business people, while things like installation price are often negotiated in person too. But if you want the most direct way to get a new Starlink Kit, a good subscription kit and a dirt cheap way to install the kit. If you want Starlink, this is the way to go, but if you know a reseller that’s cheaper or are a reseller that has something special brewing, know that we’re open to hearing from you as well.
Hope this helps!
