Wonder if they’ll do a competition for the best Ray ……

Econet’s youth-centric platform Elevate is holding a competition to recruit young video content creators who make short skits, “vines” (as some people call them) and other short films. Winners of the competition will become part of the Elevate Vidz Content Creators club, who will likely get their content directed towards the Elevate Vidz YouTube channel. Members of he content club would also get paid, allowing a lot of viral video makers to actually start making money through their videos without having to jump  through crazy hoops for it. The prerequisites for joining can be found here, but here’s a sneak peek of some of the other conditions below:

1. Be a valid Econet Wireless Subscriber

2. Be registered with a valid Facebook or Twitter account

3. If using Facebook like our page Elevate Facebook Page & Econet Zimbabwe

4. If using Twitter follow @elevateyouthzw and @econetzimbabwe

5. Send a video or skit that falls into 1 of the following categories:

• Funny Skits

• Short Films

The conditions seem fair enough though we would wonder if this would mean those same content creators can’t publish their content on their own accounts or YouTube channels. We do hope that this endeavor is successful though and despite the initial skepticism towards it, perhaps Elevate can provide young Zimbabweans with engaging will entertaining opportunities to express themselves.
