Mac Pro 2019: I Want One!

It’s not perfect, but it does so much right in excess you can’t even think about the wrong.

Yes it looks like a food grater but I’m still sold

Now I’m going to start by saying this as clearly as possible: I’m what many would call an Apple skeptic, or even an Apple hater depending on how strongly you feel about the brand. And while I think the latter claim is totally wrong, I can agree with the former one.I am an Apple skeptic , mostly because I believe Apple arent the groundbreaking and innovative game changers they used to be . They still make good enough products, and chances are if you’re used to Apple’s ecosystem you don’t even notice all the complaints other people say abput their products, but as I mentioned before, being innovative or flipping tech standards on their heads (for the right reasons at least) hasn’t exactly been at the top of Apple’s agenda as of late, and no one can testify that as well as professional or enterprise Apple users can. This is mainly because the highest end, most powerful Apple PC, the Mac Pro, hadn’t been upgraded from 2013 and that model wasn’t upgradeable like many high end pro machines are. So a lot of videographers , graphics specialists and studios who loved Apple’s ecosystem had to either move to Windows machines or settle for lackluster power and performance on most of Apple’s machines. Until Now:

The 2019 Mac Pro is honestly all the right amounts power, performance and design excellence that remind you why apple has such a grandiose reputation in the first place. The thing is a legitimate BEAST , starting with a 8-core Intel Xeon 3.5 GHz CPU going all the way up to a 28-Core 2.5 GHz monster with ram options starting at 32GB and going all the way up to 1.5 Terabytes of RAM. no, we did not make a typo there, you can literally get 1 500 GB of RAM IN THIS THING! And if you’re wondering what you would even do with all that, guess what, so are we. But that isn’t the point of the Mac Pro, alongside it’s 8K XDR Display this is a machine meant for high end specialized workflows all centered around graphical rendering and video production, which are much bigger than even your average YouTuber. These are the type of machines animation studios may buy if they want a crazy powerful machine outside of the Windows ecosystem and this is evidenced by the XDR Display and the Afterburner hardware acceleration card. It’s also a play at Apple officially making another aspirational product for the rest of us to lust after, something it had sort of been lacking with companies like Samsung, Microsoft and even Huawei stealing it’s thunder in multiple device categories. This makes even it’s (frustrating) lack of support for NVIDIA cards which are still the better standard for graphical rendering , acceptable at least for a little while. The Mac Pro is Apple taking back a bit of their street cred while finally pleasing hardcore dedicated fans. And for the first time in a long while while, I can personally look at an Apple product and say “I want one”.
