Intel, Nvidia, Qualcomm and others cut ties with Huawei

It’s not just Google…

Huawei’s ban by the U.S. Government is spreading far beyond just Google and it’s Huawei’s smartphone business. It has been reported that Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom alongside other chipmakers from the U.S. and beyond are not supplying Huawei with their required microchip and processor components anymore. This in turn cripple Huawei’s PC business, server and cloud business, alongside the already suffering smartphone business. Even German chipmaker Infineon Technologies has frozen it’s supply deal to Huawei as well.

Huawei itself was apparently partially ready for such a scenario, having stockpiled components that should last it for three months, but either way, this move will obviously continue to push the company and the Chinese government into a corner, which might escalate this trade war with the U.S. in ways none of us want it to.
